So what do you think?

I finally took a few minutes and made a banner for this blog! It wasn't nearly as hard as I imagined it would be. LOL

Edited to add a link to the tutorial I used with step-by-step instructions: Making a Blog Banner

Rambling about odds and ends

1. I think I need to change the tagline on this blog. Technically, it's a covered patio, but here's the view from my back porch. And doesn't everyone have a Cars toothbrush out on the patio table ????

2. Why can I never get these two to take a decent picture together when they are all dressed for church ???

3. You may or may not know that I am so NOT a shopper. At least not out in the stores. I like to order online and have it delivered to my doorstep. Anyway, I found a "new" store last week! Kohl's has been open here for ?what? 5 years? or so? I stepped foot in there for the first time last week, and maybe I just got lucky, but I'll be going back to check out their great sales. The walls and drapes were already like this in Clark's room when we moved in. I had that fleece blanket with an antique transportation theme and had already decided to use that too. But at Kohl's I found this discontinued bedding that was unbelievably marked down. For $83 plus tax, I got the coverlet, shams, two pillows to go inside the shams, the striped pillow and a set of sheets and pillowcases. I think it's just perfect! Definitely not "little" boy, but it will grow with him (without showing stains - LOL).

4. I've been concentrating on getting the rest of the house "set up", so I haven't given the office/craft room much attention. We did get all the storage cubes (bought at Michael's with a bunch of 50% coupons) put together and I'm really looking forward to getting these stocked!

5. But tonight I got the itch to drag out some stamps and make a simple card. The only question is "Which box are my ink pads in???"

Menu Plan Monday

I guess it's no secret my life has been a constant whirlwind since tax season was over. I am so tired of flying by the seat of my pants and only having enough time to handle what absolutely HAS to be done each day. So I'm taking one step this week to get back on the organized wagon. I found Laura's blog months ago, but this is my first week to put together a meal plan and join in on Menu Plan Monday. I love having one of the major decisions of the day already made and the shopping done ahead of time!

Monday - Homemade Pizza
Tuesday - Southwestern Baked Chicken w/ rice,beans,corn
Wednesday - Ham, scalloped potatoes, brocolli & cheese
Thursday - Omelets
Friday - Tuna Fish (full of apples and grapes)
Saturday - Hamburgers, fries, fruit salad
Sunday - Pork chops, green beans, corn

WAAAYYY TOOOOO much happenin'

I hate that the blog posts are few and far between, but we are still crazy busy trying to unpack and get settled in our new home. Plus we're dealing with the updating of the old place to get it ready to put on the market. Mom has been so crazy she even resorted to delegating Clark's bedtime reading a few nights ago.

As if that weren't enough, Clark started preschool this week. He was so excited to have his own lunchpack. I was really worried about him changing both places he spends the majority of his time in a six day timespan, but he has adjusted wonderfully.

Then to top it all off, Addison's dance recital is tomorrow night. We were at TPAC yesterday for 9 hours of dress rehearsal. This is her first year to dance (and my first year to be a recital mom), so I was quite frazzled trying to hem costumes, pack makeup, hair paraphernalia, and snacks/drinks to get us through the day. But once we got there, I totally enjoyed the entire day! She was a real trooper....never complained about being tired. In fact, at the end of the night she was still dancing down the halls between the theater and the dressing room. Her ballet number is a daddy/daughter dance, so I snapped this picture in the TPAC lobby. Just too sweet!!!

I'm not sure when I'll EVER have any scrappy to post. I haven't even started unpacking all the boxes in the office/craftroom yet !!! Thanks for stopping by.
