A Day in my Life (tidbit)

I've signed up for a swap with some of the Willows for 12X12 LO's of this day - March 15, 2007. I kept the camera pretty handy all day, and even made some notes about my thoughts. Here's a sneak peek at a few of the (untouched) pics....just another ordinary day!

So does this camera need to work THIS well???

I'm truly elated I was able to buy the "most unused" used Digital Rebel out there from my sweet friend Naomi.

But did I really need to see that line of drool so clearly? (Click on the picture and it will enlarge so you'll see what I mean.) *sigh*

My second closest place to heaven

Everyone that knows me well knows my favorite places on earth usually have something to do with green grass, tall fences along the back wall, and 18 boys in the lineup. Wrigley Field is the one that gives me chills just thinking about singing "Take Me Out to the Ballgame", but Hawkins Field is definitely a close second.

We were avid Vanderbilt baseball fans back when only a mere hundred people would show up for the games. We helped support the effort to install lights so night games could be played. Then when Mr. Hawkins made the initiative to build a REAL field, we supported that too.
And it really has turned into its own Field of Dreams. The baseball program has become more and more successful each year, this week reaching a new milestone in school history of being ranked the #1 team in the nation.

After a few weeks of some really cold weather - even snowing and sleeting here just four days ago, today was an absolutely gorgeous day! Up to 71 degrees and just beautiful! So what else could be more perfect than an afternoon baseball game? Vanderbilt was even playing my alma mater. LOL We left at the top of the 5th, but the Commodores are still undefeated.

We've been busy getting ready for Valentine's Day!

Addison worked really hard on the cookies we're taking for the party at her school tomorrow, but she did get tired of writing her name so many times on all the cards for her classmates and teachers. We also made a candle for Miss Beth and lollipop matchbook covers for her school friends.

Snow and My Reasons

We woke up Friday morning to a light covering of snow. Since Addison's preschool was on a snow delay and she's been hanging on to a bad cough most of the week, we decided to keep her home. However, we can go entire winters without more than a flake, so we took her and Clark out for ten minutes. Clark was actually ready to come back inside after about five minutes. She was so anxious to get out in it, but it wasn't long until she was ready to come in and warm up too.

I finished this LO on a canvas today for a project in Advanced Math at The School of Scrap. I'm taking this to work on Monday to hang in my office.

I found a little groove FINALLY!

I got so bogged down this month in a swap deadline. Once I finished the swap I made a few cards. But all of a sudden it was the last weekend in January and I hadn't scrapped one single page. I was on the verge of being quite depressed about it. But I had just seen an online preview of Easy Patterns for Scrapbooking. So I grabbed the great December kit from CHS, some cardstock and a little bit of ribbon. I can't believe how quickly these six pages, card and tag came together! I can't wait for this book. It really helped me get over my slump and get some Christmas pictures already in the albums.

A little bit done!

I got some new stuff to help with the re-organizing. The 39-drawer set came from Lowe's. I'm using it to sort small embellishments by color in the top two rows, alphas and numerals in the next 3 rows, then things like chipboard shapes, frames, tags, flowers, etc in the bigger drawers on the bottom. I also hung a vertical file sorter on the wall to hold the larger packages of alpha stickers.

I've finished four more pages in Hillary's class. Here are the two I finished tonight in what has to be record time for me.

And here are my sweet little punkins playing in the leaves today.

well....I've been busy

scrappin'!!! The organizing isn't going so well, but Hillary's online class has really gotten me motivated. The good thing is I'm using up stuff. So there will be less to organize! (Always gotta look for that silver lining, huh?)

I've already finished five pages this month!!! And I'm not in love with ALL of them, but a finished page is a perfect page in my book.

Let's Get Organized!!!

I've got to get it through my little pea-brain that you can't keep adding more and more and more stuff to a limited space without it getting out of control. So, first and foremost, I've got to downsize a little.

So I'm starting a box...with things to either sell, RAK or donate to the school. I'm going to make it my goal to get at least 5 RAK's in the mail in the next week. So I'm going to start going through stuff intentionally looking for things I think someone else might actually USE!!! I'll post a picture of my packages when they're ready to go to the post office.

If you're joining me, please leave a comment. I'll also be sending out a small prize at the end of the month to someone (drawn at random) who helps keep me motivated !
